
How to Make Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Things You’ll Need:
- Pumpkin(s)
- Serrated knife
- Paper towels
- Large bowl
- Cutting board
- Cookie sheet (one with sides is helpful)
- Butter, vegetable oil, or margarine (your choice)
- Sea Salt
- Pepper
- Favorite herbs
- Oven
Carve your pumpkin, saving the seeds.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Clean your seeds. Place them in a large bowl with fresh water. Using your hands, rub the seeds between your hands to remove the flesh of the pumpkin. Once the seeds are clean, place them on a paper towel to dry.
A cookie sheet with sides works the best for roasting pumpkin seeds. This way, the seeds won’t slip off of the cookie sheet and burn on the bottom of the oven. Spread the clean pumpkin seeds over the cookie sheet evenly.
Using melted butter, vegetable oil, or melted margarine, give the seeds a light coating (about 4 Tablespoons over the entire amount on the cookie sheet). Your seasonings will “stick” this way.
The seasonings you use are really a personal preference. Our favorite seasoning for roasted pumpkin seeds is sea salt. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake. Mrs. Dash, garlic salt, cinnamon, or lemon pepper are also popular choices of seasonings.
Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 to 40 minutes, (every oven is different), or until the pumpkin seeds are golden brown.
Remove the seeds from the oven and sprinkle with more sea salt if desired.

How to Make Pork Chops Breaded With Pumpkin Seeds
Things You’ll Need:
- pumpkin seeds
- bowls and or pans
- blender
- glass baking dishes
- 1 egg
- Water
- Pork chops
- milk
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Grind the pumpkin seeds in a blender. Set aside in a small bowl or pan.
Prepare an egg wash. Place 1 egg and 2 tbsp. water in a small bowl or pan. Stir to combine.
Pour a little milk in a bowl or pan. Dip each pork chop in the milk.
Dip pork chops in the eggwash – first one side, then the other.
Dip the pork chops in the pumpkin seeds – first one side, then the other. Don’t forget the sides of the chops as well.
Place the pork chops in a baking dish.
Bake for 40 minutes to 1 hour, until cooked through.
For added flavour you could add something like a chipotle cream sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
