Me {Theresa Furey}

I am now a mother of one bonnie little boy and a wife. I love my family. I love spending time with my son, he is my inspiration.

When I’m not at home spending time with my son, I can be found working in a research laboratory in Oxford. Otherwise you’ll find me behind a camera and working on my business, Egg In The Nest Photography. I am a maternity, baby, toddler, child and family photographer. Art has always been a passion. I have been drawing and creating since the age of eleven when I discovered my natural and genetic talent. My father is an oil painter. My grandfather painted as a hobby as well. I had always been drawn to photography and owned several aim and snap cameras, but I feel in love when I first laid hands on a DSLR camera around three years ago.

Prior to photography, I was/am a research scientist. I have a BSc and a MSc in Genetics. I was studying for my PhD at the University of Oxford until I had given birth to my beautiful little boy. So for now I traded in the lab coat and beakers pursuit part time for a house coat and bottles. I am very happy and comfortable at home with the little one and enjoy the joys of motherhood. Therefore for now running my business is my part time job, and I love it too. When I have extra time, I take on additional photography work as a freelance photographer.

My husband Tristan loves writing music, video games and his job as a three dimensional artist and animator. He is my perfect counterpart and never ceases to make me laugh. We enjoy our life with our son on the side of the Malvern Hills. Malvern is a quaint town known for its majestic hills, natural springs, the Morgan, and as the late home of the composer Edward Elgar.

My Photographs

I usually use a Nikon D300S and various lens, but I also have a Nikon D40, which was my first DSLR camera. The primary lens I use at the moment are a fixed 50mm f1.4, 24-70mm f2.8, and a 80-200mm f2.8.

This Webite

I began blogging in July 2009. Initially this blog was a merger with the Egg In The Nest Photography Blog . I decided recently to create Baby Blue Tickled Pink because I wished to focus discussions on products, crafts, cooking related to pregnancy, for babies & children and for the home.

The blog is  a Prophoto 2 by NetRivet deigned by me.
