Two weeks ago me and the family ventured back to Oxford for a wedding celebration of some lovely and dear friends. We also took the opportunity to catch up with other new & dears we left behind (when we moved to Malvern) while we were there…making a weekend of the whole affair. Enjoy my Oxford snip-its x

The one below is of Mr Kenneth Lightfoot, a comic magician. He ACTUALLY threw a common playing card on top of a three-story building right in front of the crowd’s very eyes! The second shot is of him in action.

I recently returned the the U.S. to bring my son (now seven months old) for his first visit to meet my side of the family. It was a wonderful experience for us all. It was his first time meeting his American grandfather, great grandfather, aunts, uncles and cousins. Amazingly he was an angel on the eight and a half hour flight over as well as the six hour flight back. He is currently only having a bit of jet-lag and trying to adjust to his old sleep schedule.
Our visit held many wonderful surprises. We had the little lad baptised at my family church. He was peaceful for just about the whole ceremony.
The wonderful Godparents

And with Aunt Lisa

Afterwards we had a little luncheon and he was more lively and loving all the attention!

Also on our holiday we had a chance to take him to Sesame Place with his cousins. He wasn’t too sure what to make of it at first but he loved the show and the parade!

He had lots of chances to play in the puddling and tidal wave pools…he loves the water.

We then took a trip to Columbia Maryland to visit Great Aunt Peg. It was the little guys first time meeting Aunt Peg and Daddy’s too! Aunt Alice accompanied us on the trip. She put us all up in a cozy place close to Aunt Peg. We all had a huge and delicious dinner at the local Red Lobster…mmm, mmm, mmm. I’m still thinking about that baked crab and the New England Clam Chowder! The next day we had a nice brunch at the Cheesecake Factory and had a chance to also meet Maggie. It was a lovely visit and we hope to get a chance to do it again!

Finally, we spent the last part of our holiday in Ocean City, New Jersey. We were staying at a relative’s holiday home two blocks away from the beach and boardwalk. We took the week long trip with my father and his girlfriend, my two sisters, my brother and my neice and nephew. We had some visits from friends while we were there too!
Most of our time was spent on the beach, the boardwalk or in the air conditioned house as it was well over 35 degrees every day with a hundred percent humidity! Our holiday was over the hottest weeks in the summer this year.

Sandy hands…

We were sad to go, but holidays can’t last forever.
We will always fondly remember the little lad’s first trip to the U.S. We hope to see everyone again very soon!
